POSITION DETAILS:
Title: Materials, Logistics & Procurement Specialist
Location: Eureka, Utah
Position Type: Full-Time, Site-Based
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts
Reports To: Maintenance Superintendent
POSITION SUMMARY:
TCM is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Materials, Logistics & Procurement Specialist to oversee procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics operations. This role is responsible for sourcing materials and services, maintaining accurate inventory records across multiple site warehouses, coordinating shipments, and ensuring the timely availability of parts and equipment to support mining operations.
The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and analytical skills, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to optimize supply chain efficiency while maintaining productive vendor relationships, inventory controls, and warehouse best practices. This position plays a critical role in supporting operational reliability and cost-effective materials management across the site.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Procurement & Supply Chain:
- Manage sourcing, purchasing, and vendor relationships for spare parts, consumables, and services.
- Review and process purchase requisitions while ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
- Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and delivery terms.
- Support budgeting and cost-control initiatives related to materials and services.
- Expedite deliveries to meet operational schedules and project deadlines.
- Evaluate supplier performance, pricing, and sourcing opportunities.
Inventory & Warehouse Management:
- Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and issuing of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Implement and maintain a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) or Functional Location Structure for material tracking.
- Leverage inventory tracking systems and work closely with the Company's Accounting Department.
- Conduct accurate inventory audits on a continuous basis, including quarterly and year-end audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency and inventory performance.
- Ensure inventory records remain accurate, reliable, and up to date.
- Manage inventory across multiple site warehouses.
- Maintain accurate records, optimize stock levels, and ensure the efficient flow of goods throughout the supply chain.
- Collaborate with purchasing and receiving teams to maximize inventory efficiency and company resources.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure warehouse operations are conducted safely and in accordance with company standards and best practices.
Logistics Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to support operations and projects.
- Optimize transportation and storage solutions for efficiency and cost savings.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities while ensuring the efficient handling and movement of inventory.
General:
- Maintain physical fitness required for the position.
- Actively support and enforce all TCM safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement, inventory control, warehouse management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Experience in mining, heavy industry, manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment is preferred.
- Experience using SAGE ERP is considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency with inventory management and purchasing systems.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
